The Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology Group (GBMI) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) has improved the antimicrobial properties of medical textiles using an enzymatic pre-treatment combined with simultaneous deposition of nanoparticles and biopolymers under ultrasonic irradiation.
